Restarting McMyAdmin via SSH.

This knowledgebase article assumes you understand how to log in to SSH on your remote host; if you don't know how to this please read this acrticle first.

Now that we have that out of the way, here's how to restart your McMyAdmin control panel! Only follow the "A" steps unless prompted to skip to a "B" step by the tutorial.

1.) Log in to your host on SSH.

2.) Navigate to your minecraft folder using the command "cd /minecraft/Minecraft/" (no quotes).

3.) Now type "screen -x" - This SHOULD attach you to your McMyAdmin screen instance. This is kind of like using alt+tab on windows to bring the screen into focus on your SSH terminal.

If you get an error such as "No screen session exists." then skip to step 4B.

4A.) Once you've attached to the screen, type in "/reset" and hit enter; if this does not restart your web panel, then type "stop" into the console to shut off you server.

If your console window does not respond to your commands, skip to step 5B.

4B.) Type the command "screen -S minecraft mono McMyAdmin.exe" and hit enter; this will run a new instance of McMyAdmin on your node. You'll then need to hold down Ctrl+A+D in order to detach yourself from the screen. (In windows terms, tab out of it.)

If you get some sort of error from this command, or your server does not start properly, skip to step 5B.

5A.) If your server does not automatically restart, or your screen session simply closes on you, Type the command "screen -S minecraft mono McMyAdmin.exe" and hit enter; this will run a new instance of McMyAdmin on your node. You'll then need to hold down Ctrl+A+D in order to detach yourself from the screen. (In windows terms, tab out of it.)

5B.) Hold down Ctrl+A+D and enter the command "ps x" this will list all processes on your machine; look for the process name that contains "screen" in it, then write down it's PID. (Process ID, the number nearest to the left.) Now type in "kill -9 PID-YOU-GOT" to force the process to stop. Now repeat step 5A.

In this case the PID is 6483.

6.) You're done! McMyAdmin should be successfully restarted now :).
